Another iPad Gets a Restaurant Job

Instead of a wine list, a restaurant in Naples, Florida, is serving up an IPad to its guests, and in place of a live sommelier’s recommendations, the computer will provide suggestions for a bottle with dinner based on a number of search choices.

We’ve seen an Aussie restaurant reportedly replace menus with iPads back in June – now a Florida eaterie is using an iPad to help patrons find the right wine to go with their meals.

Bedtime story reading is always one of the most wonderful blocks of family time – enjoyed by kids and parents alike. It’s educational and fun, it’s a great way to bring energy levels down at the end of long hard day of being a kid, and it fosters a love of reading – which is such a great thing.

And the iPad is going to be a big contributor to this bedtime routine. It will not – any time soon – replace printed books. But it will be another great option on certain evenings when the mood strikes.

I have a real fondness for the newspaper industry. As such, it has been hard to watch it’s relevance and viability slowly disintegrate. Certainly newsprint isn’t the only way to deliver news to a home. However, nothing quite replaces the cozy-and-content image of someone holding coffee in one hand while juggling the morning paper in the other.
