I thought as part of our iPad Basics coverage, it would be useful to lay out the tech specs of the device. You can of course go to this Apple page to review them all, but I figured it might be useful to share them in more bit-sized chunks, as there are a lot of them.
So here are the details for the Display, Capacity, Processor, and Battery and Power for the iPad:
Display
9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology
1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi)
Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating
Support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously
Capacity
16GB, 32GB, or 64GB flash driveProcessor
1GHz Apple A4 custom-designed, high-performance, low-power system-on-a-chipBattery and power
Built-in 25-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery
Up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music
Charging via power adapter or USB to computer system
The 10 hours battery life figure while surfing and watching video etc. still jumps out a lot for me. If that’s close to accurate it will be quite impressive.
I still haven’t decided which model / storage level I want, but I’m leaning towards 64GB if I can scrape the pennies together for it.

I'm on the same boat as you, leaning towards the 64GB model, but it is a bit pricey. Have you heard about the rumor of the price being dropped? Might make the decision easier, but at the same time would like to go get on at launch date
Yes, I sure have seen lots of talk of possible price drops – but I'm also looking to get one on Day 1, so will have to hope for Apple refund if the price drop comes quickly enough.
Hi,
I have just posted an article on Applications of the Ipad . The article illustrates ways in which the Ipad could be used much different from what the creators may have thought . check it out here.
